NLP

‘Neuro Linguistic Programming’ is based on the idea that we experience our reality through our five senses: Visual (seeing), Auditory(hearing), Kinaesthetic (feeling), Olfactory (smell) and Gustatory (taste). Simply put NLP is about thoughts, words and actions.

NLP was co-created by John Grinder and Richard Bandler in the 1970’s. Their work was based on paying attention to the unconscious processes and what they observed in people.

Neuro: concerns the brain and the things that go on in your mind. It refers to the nervous system, how we translate outside information coming in through our five senses which we then translate into thought processes.

Linguistic: this relates to language both verbal and non verbal. It examines language structure and is how we represent, order and sequence the neural information into models and strategies through language and other non-verbal system – sounds, feelings, pictures, tastes, smells and self-talk.

Programming: this is about your behaviour and your thinking patterns. It is the organisation of the sensory representations into patterns and the sequences of actions to achieve specific outcomes.

NLP is an educational process which brings about constructive and lasting change to an individuals life. It differs from other therapies as it is a solutions-based approach and focuses on finding satisfactory outcomes for clients. NLP enables a person to explore the challenging emotional reasons that drive their behaviour, while giving them the tools to deal with whatever life throws at them.

COACHING
